GreenBiz Requirements*

* #1 is required and you must comply with either #2 or #3

1) Business must have Internal Policies and Procedures in place to:

�         Save Energy and/or use Cleaner or Renewable Energy

�         Reduce Resource Use, Waste and/or Pollution

�         Educate Staff about Green Policies & Procedures

Preferred

�         Purchase Locally Grown or Produced Products or Raw Materials

�         Purchase Organic or Fair Trade Products or Raw Materials

�         Offer Incentives for staff, office or department performance 

2) Business must actively market at least one product or service that is recognized as “green” in one or more of the following ways: (3^rd party verification or certification required if available and applicable)

       �         Saves Energy or uses Cleaner or Renewable Energy

�         Reduces Resource Use, Waste and/or Pollution

�         Locally Grown, Produced and Distributed

�         Organic or Fair Trade

�         Healthier, More Holistic or Less Toxic

3) Business must support or participate in Local Green Groups or Projects in one or more of the following ways:

�         Sponsor or Donate funds, goods or services to Green Groups or Projects*

�         Provide Volunteers for Green Groups or Projects

�         Serve on Boards or Committees for Green Groups or Projects

* Participation as a Bluegrass GreenBiz PARTNER or SPONSOR satisfies this requirement
